Absolutely exceptional trip with Seb. A wonderfully organised tour, excellent choice of champagne and restaurants. Soo much fun along the way. Unforgettable wine experience. We will do this again. Thank you Seb!

My wife and I are French wine fans and have been been to the wine regions of France a number of times, however we have always struggled to integrate into the wine culture as we don’t speak French and we don’t know any locals. We recently did the Burgundy ‘34 tour with Sebastian from Clos Driver and we had the best experience, it was perfect.

Sebastian is the ultimate host, his knowledge about wine and the region is incredible, he accommodated all requests, he is fluent in French and English and has a great sense of humour. We got to meet Chablis winemaker Patrick Puize, taste his wines in his cellar and have lunch with him in the town of Chablis, which is something we would normally never have access to. Then onto the historic town of Beaune, where our hotel was both luxurious and charming. We didn’t have to worry about a thing everything was carefully organised.

We really didn’t expect to enjoy a wine tour quite this much. Now that we know what to expect we will be booking a longer tour with Sebastian when we visit France next year!

Access. Friendship. Intimacy. Exposure. Knowledge. Oh, and the wines, too!

I would want to say that these are what set Clos Driver apart from other wine tours or experiences, but really any comparison of the experience that Sebastien and his team provide to any other “wine tour” is incredibly misleading.

The Back to Nature tour in Champagne with Clos Driver is not at “tour” in as far as when one lives and breathes and is rooted in a place, it is impossible to be a “tourist.” This may also be the difference in a wine between one dedicated to expression of terroir and one that is a far less intimate and intricate product.

Clos Driver brings you into the lives of true superstars of the grower champagnes — people whose names draw whispered veneration amongst the world’s wine elite cognoscenti—yet the interactions with them are more like old friends. This is not (just) the Champagne of gilded houses, but of the women and men who breathe the land and whose breath infects the ethereal bubbles they coax into their wines. It is magical. You meet with the wine makers as friends, you see their land and the care which with they tend it, and it all makes you understand how everything comes together in the glass to form the truly elegant expressions that reflect the personality and care of the vignerons behind them.

Be prepared, however! The itineraries can be rigorous (although, of course, the graciousness and wit of all the hosts, especially Sebastien, make for enough leeway to adjust as necessary). And if the early morning start of a brisk walk in the vines or a gruelling tasting in the caves seems hard at first, know that the sacrament of a convivial and delicious lunch will be your reward!

While on holiday in France we wanted to experience a wine tour that could satisfy both our thirst for champagne and appetite for gourmet food. We decided to do the UNESCO and Gastronomy Champagne tour with Clos Driver. From the moment we met Sebastien, our wine expert guide, we felt like we would have a memorable time and we did.

The hotel we stayed in, conveniently located a whisk away from Reims city center was amazing. The food from the michelin star hotel restaurant was to die for. The visits were wonderfully organized, the sites mesmerizing and the wine tastings exceptional, benefiting from Sebastien’s personal anecdotes.

It was our first tour experience within champagne and the combination of Sebastien’s deep knowledge and super friendly, combined with the most obliging and attentive service took the whole experience beyond expectations. I would recommend Clos Driver for anyone looking for an organic visit of champagne with a luxury touch.

Alsace is a region like no other. Two and a half hours from Paris by train, and on the border with Germany and Switzerland, Alsace is a fusion of French and Germanic culture and values. When it comes to wine, food and architecture, this blend gives France’s smallest region its very own, unique style. Squeezed between the Vosges mountains and the river Rhine, the vineyards of Alsace produce some of the world’s finest wine.

Typical grape varieties are Gewürtztraminer, Sylvaner and Riesling, which go to make some of the world’s very best white wines.
